I started taking pictures:

So people ask me quite often why, if I own my own place, have I not moved out of my parents yet? Some have even felt that I am afraid of being on my own. I’ve thought about this, and thats not it either. I actually want to move out pretty badly, but I think the biggest thing holding me back is convenience.
All my *Stuff* is still here. Sure, I’m moving it over gradually, but one thing I do fear is moving all my shit there and then having to go through infinite boxes searching for my stuff… Knowing me, and with my busy schedule, I’ll never get around to unpacking everything. The saying, It’s easier to keep it clean than get it clean holds double with me. If I let it get too bad, I’ll lose the drive to keep it, so I’m trying to move everything over in phases…
I packed up my bar, all my stemware, and started putting together some of my computer stuff. Tomorrow, we’re building my workbench so I’ll be able to migrate my computers over finally.
Next week, the couch arrives. I’ll then be able to position and mount the projector. I don’t know how I’m going to get the screen there. Maybe I’ll tie it down to the roof of my car. Maybe I’ll luck out and it’ll fit in dad’s truck. Maybe I’ll call a friend with a bigger truck 🙂
I should be in fully by next week. Once the couch comes, I’ll be able to just chill and relax like I can here now. Thats also a big reason I don’t want to go there now… I’d be confined to my bedroom, as the living room is no more than a workshop for home-repair right now 🙂
I am going to shoot for the weekend of March 17th for my open house. That’s pending I can get all my furniture moved in by then. Need to call on some friends or rent a truck for Friday evening or Saturday. I would love to be in next weekend and have the week to organize, clean and set up.
I wish the furniture store still had that bar!!! I need to find a local retailer that sells the one I want or else pay an arm and a leg to get it shipped here.
Granted my situation was bit different than yours (I left for vacation the day after my closing for a week), but I did not move in right away. As a matter of fact, I did not sleep in my apartment until my bed was delivered, which was a week or 2 later. AND, I did not paint at all, so there was not waiting time on that.
I agree with you doing things is shifts. Do what you need to do. This is your place. It’s not going anywhere. Take your time to do it right and know that in the end, you will be home – not just moved in. /cheesy advice.
Diana got a new truck. No more Camaro. She told me to let you know that if you’re still in need of a truck (she bought a Ford Explorer), to give her a buzz…ttyl!
:o)
Cool deal. I might take her up on it 🙂
Thats exactly how I feel about it.
