As a firend of mine gave me a gmail account from my posting on this journal, I will do the same in return. If anybody wants a gmail account, respond to this post. I will give first dibbs to people I know in person, then someone I know online and if none of you want it, I’ll give it to anybody who responds, so give it a shot and respond….. I will choose who to send the invite to sometime tomorrow
(Remember, Compliments and bribes will get you everything. rofl..j/k!)
Didn’t think of asking you last time and well I went and managed to get one. LoL
Can I still bribe your sexy ass for other stuff???? Rofl. j/k 😛

Did you even bother to read my post about G-mail? Huh? DID YOU!!!
xoxo
what is g-mail – I am so unclear on it. How is it different than any other e-mail?
Its not. Its a way for uber-geeks to feel superior. 😉

Lol. LadyAponi put it just right. Since it’s a new web-based email service and it’s only available to people who get “invited” by other members (and invites are rarely given out, even to members) it’s considered “Elite” or “cool” to have a Gmail account. lol. ‘specially if your of the computer geek type (as I am).
Gmail happens to be a decent e-mail service with some interesting (possibly scary) quirks.
1. You get 1 GB of storage where most other provider allow between 10 MB and 250 MB of space.
2. So far, good spam filtering. I havent gotten a single piece of spam to my account, then again, I don’t give it out in public either.
3. Web based interface scans the content of your email (This has bought out a lot of debate) and sends you advertisements based on the content, Though Google’s take is they give you relevant ads, and they’re not obtrusive like pop-ups or other traditional web advertising. In fact, if you don’t look for the ads, you barely know they’re there.
Personally, I like what they’ve done with it.
Contrary to your post, For which people tended to ignore and reply with unassociated topics, Gmail IS cool 🙂 Gives you more storage than Yahoo! does and does not invade your privacy. a “program” scans your email one time and sends you ads based on the content. It is not catalogged, recorded or viewed by any people. Where is this invasion of privacy. If that were so, then Outlook Express or Microsoft Internet Explorer also “Invade your privacy” because they read the content of your email and deliver to you… the content of your email.
So, you’re saying you want a Gmail account, right? 🙂
i still dont have one yet =( i feel so uncool
