This weekend was great. I took off Saturday from the radio station to head up to the New York Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo, New York.
I headed out about 9AM to get a hold of $25 in gold dollar coins. There’s just something about buying stuff at the renfair using gold coins out of a leather pouch. I find it so “in-period”. It wasn’t an easy task gathering the coins either. I had to go to 2 banks and they couldn’t provide me with a roll, so I managed to gather together about $30 in gold dollars.
After the whole money ordeal, I picked up Kerry at the train station and we headed out to Queens to meet up with Laura, Vinny and Dave. We got to the faire about 20 minutes before Scott and Liz arrived, so we all got together and had a blast. The Renaissance Faire was a lot of fun this year. It’s a great place to go with friends or family.
I’m looking foward to going back to the faire with in the next month or so.
hahah that’s an awesome idea i never woulda thought of that! i really hope i get to the faire this year =)
oh about the gold coins i meant that was an awesome idea. haha i never specified
I love going to that place! I used to love the guy with the fart shoes when I was little. Now that I’m older… not so funny. But it still makes me a little nostalgic.
Should I be offended that I wasn’t invited? 😉
xoxo
i’m lookin to go up there sometime this month too
Correction…you picked up KERRI *points to icon* at the train station….rofl.
<3
Lemme know when you go… If hell freezes over and I have off work, maybe I’ll meet up with you up there.
You were certainly invited, though I have not spoken to you since I set up the trip. I did post in a few LJ communities about it inviting anybody who wanted to join. I’ll shoot you an eVite the next time I go.
I’m very jealous!! *turns bright green* I wanna go to a renaissance fair! I’ve never been to one, any one thing that was really amazing?
Naw, It was just a blast…
I ran around with the camera all day taking pictures of the people and events going on. We saw a few shows (The MUD show, The knife-throwing show, etc..) One of my friends got pulled up to participate in one of their smaller stage shows. We drank mead, ate food (I had me some Steak on a Stake..heehee) and we just hung out and had a good time.
It sounds great! I really wish I lived out there…so I could go. I’m sure there’s one here somewhere, I just haven’t heard about it yet.
