The past 2 days I’ve been thinking a lot about how to paint the apartment. I wanted something bold, and unique. Something unusual, and I think I came up with some “out there” yet still tastefull solutions…
I downloaded the Benjamin Moore Personal Color Viewer software that allows you to set masks (different areas) on an image and easily apply various different colors to the walls, trim, cabinets, etc… (Check out there free version at www.benjaminmoore.com)
I decided to go with a 2-tone blue for my Kitchen, and yellow and red for my bedroom. The livingroom is already deep red-orange. Below the cut is the pictures I generated from Personal Color Viewer.
I like that. Looks fantastic!
if you want help painting on the weekends, Let me know, I will try and help out around homework =)
I like the kitchen. I think however that when the morning sun hits the bright yellow walls that your bedroom will become blinding. And I don’t know a curtain in the world that would stop that effect short of putting up black-out blinds… (You can ask Chris how many different curtain bits I used in an attempt to ban the sun from our bedroom.)
The bedroom looks too much like a kid’s room, in my opinion. Too primary – I’d go for something bold – but without so much contrast.
I dig the kitchen!
I’m doing all the work on the place on the weekends… I think I have the help covered, but if I need a few more hands, i’ll certainly give you a call… If not, when I’m done you can come over and help me enjoy it.. .I havent seen you in a while.
The bedroom only has 2 small windows… one on the south side of the building, the other on the west, so sunlight won’t be a problem. Especially when I’m sleeping.
The livingroom faces the east but is painted a dark red/orange which will work well considering my TV is a DLP projector which requires either a highly reflective screen or low light to look good.
lol. This is probably the reason I like it so much. It was originally done as a goof, but I kinda liked it so I darkened the yellow and red and I like how it came out. We’ll see how it looks when it’s done. I’ll post the actual pics once I’m done painting.
Hey! That’s my hoodie on your counter!
:o)
I havent even moved in yet and you’re already making a mess! Sheesh!
