Well, Thats the end of ICON. Got see see some cool stuff today. Spat (of www.spatcave.com ) has given me some new ideas, including where I can get the main component to the costume I’ve been working on for the past few years. Hopefully his suggestion will work out for me…
It seems that things get a little worse every year. I don’t know if I have just seen a little of everything and nothing is new and fresh, I don’t know if it’s dur to a lack of trek-stuff and an overabundance of Anime stuff (which I’m not all that into)…It just seems that things weren’t done as well this year. Then again, I say that every year. I was dissapointed at the lack of their “Cyberbar” this year. Basically, it was a lame attempt at a “futuristic-styled” bar with a live DJ, concerts, events, but while the hype made of it made it seem lame once you got there, it’s absence shows that it really is a key part of the con. It’s a place to just hang out, and most important of all, get cheap food…. The food at the con can be expensive as hell! They offered snacks and sodas for $0.50 where the machines outside wanted $1.25 for a soda, and the food tent wanted $2 for the same.
Saw a few other panels. Ran into more friends.. Had a good time despite any of the shortcomings. Can’t wait unrtil the next ICON 🙂
didn’t see ya. i was there in the dealer room from 12:30-2. Oh, and Icon was afwful hated not having the henna artist there AGAIN this year, no swords and the like. Oh well.
I agree that this year was not as good as many past… Then again, I say that every year.
I ws dissapointed in the lack of some of the events and especially the lack of some of the dealers.. I wanted to get some stuff from Medieval Mayhem, but they weren’t there for the first time and now that you mention it, I don’t recall seeing any of the sword/knife dealers there.
